According to some New Hampshire police back in 2018 they can freely access messages. I didnt ask details about this, Im hoping that they at least have to have an open case with the case number to do this but Im not sure about that. 15 years ago when I was a family law paralegal we would subpoena Facebook information and we rarely got it back before the case was over, so maybe thats why they let the police just click into it and get what they want.
